Bloodborne Pathogens - Online Training

This course is for anyone with a reasonable chance for occupational exposure to blood or blood-containing materials.

This course teaches:

-What bloodborne pathogens are and how they are spread
-Protection from exposure and how to act if exposed
-How to clean up after exposure
-How to tell or report any exposure

Duration: 1 hour, site-specific instruction varies. AHA provides 24-hour phone support for questions pertaining to the content in this course.

The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Online Course is a self-directed eLearning course designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction. Overview: Bayside CPR & AED Training Center is proud to serve as a National American Heart Association Training Center, providing the comprehensive American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver Instructor Course.

Course Details:

Prerequisite: A current (American Heart Association) BLS or Heartsaver card is required for enrollment as an instructor.
Course Fee: $500.00 (All-inclusive, includes AHA Heartsaver Instructor Manual, EBOOK provided unless noted otherwise, AHA Online Instructor Essentials Course to be completed before the class date, Bayside CPR Instructor Course, Mandatory Instructor Monitoring within six months of completing the discipline-specific classroom instructor course, Instructor Card, and Alignment with the American Heart Association Instructor Network with Bayside CPR as your Training Center).

Overview: The BLS, ACLS, PALS, Heartsaver Instructor Renewal Course is meticulously crafted to support American Heart Association (AHA) BLS instructors in upholding their current instructor status. Aligned with Bayside CPR & AED Training Center, instructors are mandated to partake in this renewal course before their instructor status reaches its expiration. Depending on your geographical location, supervision may occur in person by a designated Training Facilitator (TF) or a representative from Bayside CPR. Requirements and Steps for Renewal:

Download the BLS Instructor Renewal Checklist_2024.
Complete Section 1 and Section 2 of the checklist.
Sections 3 and 4 will be handled by Bayside CPR & AED Training Center.
After completing Sections 1 and 2, submit an email with the Renewal Checklist to admin@baysidecpr.com.
Attach a copy of your CURRENT AHA BLS Instructor Card.
Include verification of attendance for updates within the preceding 2 years. If no mandatory updates were attended, leave this area blank.
Attach four class rosters (page 1 ONLY) as evidence of meeting the teaching requirement in the past two years.

Teaching Requirement and Credits:

Instructors must teach a minimum of 4 classroom provider courses in 2 years for the discipline they are renewing.
Alternatively, instructors can earn credits by conducting skills practice and testing sessions for e-Learning courses.
Each day of skills practice and testing sessions counts as 1 of the required 4 courses; thus, all 4 credits can be earned this way.
